Surgical Sperm Retrieval
Surgical Sperm Retrieval is recommended when there is an absence of sperm from the ejaculate, sperm is unable to reach the urethra and when men has inadequate sperm production or absence of the vas deferens – the duct from which the sperm is transferred to the urethra.
Surgical sperm retrieval is a minor surgical procedure in which sperm is retrieved from the epididymis or directly from the testicle. The sperm is then injected into mature eggs. Obtained sperm can be frozen and used at a later stage as well.
